AMSA 30th Anniversary Members Exhibition

BellevueArtsMuseum01The opening reception at the Bellevue Arts Museum, on Friday, Oct 5, 2012, was well attended by the public. Heidi Wastweet and Anne- Lise Deering answered numerous questions from visitors. This juried exhibition of work by members of AMSA presents struck, cast, and fabricated medals and reliefs by an international group of 25 artists.

 

Nora Atkinson, curator of Bellevue Arts Museum; and Stefano Catalani, artistic director/director of curatorial affairs, Bellevue Arts Museum, adjudicated all exhibit entries for 3 prizes awarded by AMSA. Heidi Wastweets’ Abbreviated Liberty took 1st place honors, and a $300 cash award. Patricia Veranis’ Capitol Historical Society, Bill of Rights medal won 2nd place, and $200; and Jim Licaretz won 3rd place honor and $100 for Interlock 1.

After the success of the Bellevue Art Museum, the exhibit moved to Brookgreen gardens in South Carolina. The exhibit was on view May 4th through July 28th of 2013 in the Noble Gallery with a reception on May 3rd of the same year.
