Bio
Barbara Arum, medallist, sculptor and furniture maker, works mostly in wood, steel, and bronze. Exhibiting since the late 1970’s, she has received numerous awards and commissions for public and private installations.
Memberships included Allied Artists of America, New York Society of Women Artists, National Association of Women Artists, and the American Medallic Sculpture Association.
Statement
The Endangered Species Series reflect Arum’s interest and involvement in the environment. The medals represent some animals and places that are presently endangered. These works are created in wax, using the lost wax process to produce the bronze medallion.
