Bio

Geri is a native Californian, born in 1943, of Native American and Mexican American descent, with family roots dating back to before the Mission period. She is an active tribal member of the Gabrieleno/Tongva Nation. She painted in traditional oil-on-canvas since 1970, turning her primary focus in 1983 to the almost lost art of bas-relief sculpture for medals, memorials and plaques. She has exhibited internationally, including the British Museum, with works included in the Smithsonian Institution and Vatican Collections. Geri has served on the Board of Directors, and as 1st Vice-President of the American Medallic Sculpture Association. She served as Guest Curator for Beyond Two-Dimensions at the Forest Lawn Museum, Glendale, CA. She is married to fellow sculptor William L. Gould.
