Bio
Penn State Alumni Fellow Jeanne Stevens-Sollman, sculptor and medallist, began working in medallic art in 1986 with John Cook as her mentor and teacher. She has continued in her love for the medal as past president of AMSA and recipient of the American Numismatic Association’s Award for Excellence in Medallic Art as well as the J. Sanford Saltus Award for Signal Achievement in the Art of the Medal from the American Numismatic Society. In 1998 she was awarded the Prize of Excellence in Text and Imagery from the Dutch Society of Medals at the FIDEM Congress in the Hague. Currently she is the US Delegate for FIDEM (Federation Internationale de la Medaille) and an appointed member of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee for the US Mint. Selected commissions include the Presidential Mace and Presidential Chain of Office for Iowa State University as well as many awards for the Penn State Alumni Association. Her work is in numerous private collections and museums.
